The PTA needs your support to fill a number of volunteer positions. As a PTA member, you’ll be demonstrating to your child the importance you place on education.

Research has proven that children do better when parents are involved at school.

• Grades are higher.

• Test scores rise.

• Self-esteem grows.

• Schools improve.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

The PTA coordinates many of the volunteers that provide support for the school. We create a database with the names of anyone interested in volunteering in a particular area and provide it to the teachers, staff and PTA committee members who should then contact you when your help is needed. TO EVERYONE WHO HAS JOINED THE PTA: THANK YOU!  A copy of the 2008-2009 Sangster Directory has been reserved for you and will be sent home in your child's Thursday folder in mid-October.

IF HAVEN’T HAD A CHANCE TO JOIN? IT’S NOT TOO LATE! To ensure you receive a copy of the 2008-2009 Sangster Directory, turn in your PTA membership application by Monday, September 15. Additional forms are available in the office, or you can download a copy by clicking here.

While you are filling out your membership application, be sure to support our school by including your Giant and Safeway numbers at the bottom of the form.

As a member of the PTA, you will get a copy of the Sangster directory. If you've been around Sangster, you know how helpful this directory is. And, if you are new to Sangster, the directory contains a wealth of information:

• staff lists

• PTA Board members

• helpful websites

• school calendar

• inclement weather policy

• class lists and of course,

• names, addresses and telephone numbers for our Sangster families.
